98 Dicota popping back

98 Dodge Dicota 1) idles rough - new plugs & wires got a little worse....
2 ) starts ok but every few miles at lo speed it will start to pop back and bearly stay running. Peddle to the floor will fix it so that rules out the fuel pump. anyone have a guess ?

Assuming. Don't have that tool.
Reading about TPS should be about 10K ohms mine is only 4 however it is a smooth 300 ohms up to 4K no open spots. I'll replace the TPS from the junk yard and see if the conditions change or get fixed.

I think your assuming way too much here.
The first thing you want to do is put a fuel pressure gauge on it and not only verify pressure within spec but whether it's holding rest pressure. You could have a leaking injector of regulator.
If You haven't done it already, then you need to scan for codes also.
Also, the TPS isn't tested with an ohmeter. It should be tested using a DC voltmeter. The voltage arriving at the PCM is the only thing that matters,

Just a quick piece of advise Jim. I understand you don't want to invest a lot of money into tools you probably won't be using and that makes perfect sense, I wouldn't either.
What you should do is set a limit to much you are willing to spend going at it this way and don't go over it. You will need to find out how much it costs to take it in to get diagnosed to make a accurate limit. Point is I've seen some folks in a effort to "save" money by avoiding the diag, spend 3 to 4 times in parts to what it would have cost to just take it in an get it checked and still have the same problem.
If it's something simple that you can do then you're only out the diag, if it's something you don't want to do then you haven't wasted money on needless parts....
We'll help as much as we can but just understand that you will be limited to having to guess due to not having the proper equipment to run the correct tests....

Thanks I;ll have to take it to a shop that has the right tools to check this out.
I did change the TPS no change in proformance must be a fuel problem.

jim; Being a '98, your vehicle has misfire detection. If you could have the trouble codes retrieved, might help. Most part stores will do this for free. Just don't let them sell you any parts, yet. Post the codes, we'll take a look.

Thank you very much The codes all point to 02's have changed them both and cleaned the plugs - better but still has the P0132, P0135 & P0138 codes. Idles a little rough and doesn't shift just right holds on to 1'st and second a little too long. Only gets 13 MPG thinking it should be a little better.(V6)Could all of this be from the same thing ?? Have done the start spray looking for vacuum leak and the water spray on wites looking for cross talk and unpluged each injector for RPM drop all seems normal.
What next ?????
