97 ford expedition engine light comes on but shows no code when its read

hi guys i have a 97 ford expedition with i think a 5.4 and 163000 miles on it as of yesturday my check engine light came on it shows no sign of ruff running so i went to the parts store to have the code checked to see what was going on with it and to my surprise there was no trouble code to be found causing the light to come on. so the guy cleared it and then today its has come back on . any ideas what the problem could be

There is an issue and it needs to be examined more closely. I would try a different scan tool.

 i am planing on that tomorrow hope to get something this is just strange to me
could i be that the oil needs to be changed

most of the ones that do it for free have generic obd 2 scan tools that can not read oem specific codes.

i had it checked today found a code p1450 [unable to bleed up fuel tank vacuum] any one know how to go about fixxing this

That is an emissions code that has to do with the fuel vapor system for the fuel tank. It does not effect engine performance but it will require a smoke machine and extensive electrical knowledge to find the problem.

could be a few things:
block or kink in evap line, blocked evap canister and or purge outlet tube, fuel filler cap vent blocked, evap canister purge valve solinoid stuck open, or CV solinoid stuck open. kind of hard thing to diag w/o the proper equipment.
