97 astro coolant leak	Sign In

i have a 97 astro van that has a coolant leak. i have changed the water pump and clutch fan and upper and lower and bypass hose. the leak is not coming from there. i have done some more looking around and what i have found is that the leak is coming from behind the power steering pump. or right at the lower bolt that hold the pump. is there a freeze plug behind the pump or am i not see the hole picture? also i have been looking everywhere for a diagram for the engine to see what is in that area but have had no luck.

The engine does have a freeze plug at the front of the head but you could also be looking at a leaking intake gasket or coolant pipe nipple in the intake. You need to pressure test it and use a mirror if you have to to isolate the source of the leak. If you have to remove the pump to see in there, then do that.

when it leaks is only after the van has warmed up and at temp and then at that time it starts to leak but the top front of the motor is dry the only wet and leak is at bottom or can only see leak coming from under the van. so there is a hose nipple or intake gasket there? i am really troubled becouse when i am under van everything above the pump is dry but right at the lowest bolt that is driping. or now running.
