'97 GMC Sierra-K1500-350....Started a few months ago after coming home from a camping trip and using the A/C for the first time.....Engine missed through acceleration...Did get the multiple misfire code....Since then I have changed the distributor cap, rotor, coil, plug wires, plugs were changed last year, fuel pump, fuel filter....It seems to only do it till the engine is warmed up....Also sometimes cranks a bit till it starts but it doesn't happen all the time

Without the right equipment, tracking down a misfire can be a little tough..... A real time consuming mistake someone can make is assuming a part is good because it's been changed or is fairly new..... What exact codes are you getting?? If it narrows it down to single cylinders I would swap the plugs out of the missing cyls to other cyls to see if the miss moves. If you are just getting a P0300 then you are going to have to find out which cyls are missing & which ones aren't. Considering your cranking problem, you may also want to take a fuel pressure reading and make sure the pressure holds with the key off....

Has it thrown any codes? First thing that comes to mind might be a coolant sensor prob. Also might have the fuel pressure checked, even though the pump has been replaced. It's a start. Good luck. or

Thanks for the input. I think I found out what was making it miss . Still have an occasional long crank when starting. I'll have the fuel pressure checked. You'd think they would have checked it when fuel pump was replaced.

Don't keep us in suspense...... What'd ya find??? As far as the long crank, try cycling the key from off to on slowly about 4 or 5 times, leaving it on for a few second each time. If that gets it to fire right up, you have a fuel problem

If you perform the test that Sidom suggested while a fuel pressure gauge is hooked up, you could find out if you have a bad fuel pump relay too. If the relay is bad, it will eventually get power from the oil pressure sender but not until it builds up oil pressure so the cycling wouldn't have worked. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
