We just got a 1997 Ford Expedition XLT 5.4L and are unfamiliar with the engine layout. It is very different looking from our old 95 F150 5.0L
We need to change the spark plugs on the 97 Expedition but we cannot figure out where they are located.
We tried looking in the book at the auto parts store, but it was non helpful.

Anyone have directions on how to do it and what exactly we are looking for? As I said we are completely unfamiliar with this engine layout... diagrams and charts would be nice. LOL

Thanks!

Make sure you really want to attempt this. It's not easy at all and is a 3 hour flat rate.

It's a coil on plug system with a coil on top of every plug. You have to remove each coil by unplugging the wire and removing the 8mm bolt.

Fair warning!!!!!!!! The rear 2 cylinders on the passenger side are so far buried, you won't even be able to find them.
