What is the best way to be sure about valve and how do you repair 155000 miles on engine but I want to keep the truck. Help ?

These engines are known for intake gasket issues but usually just once. To verify a suspect valve as best you can, take a compression test - just plain when warm and again adding a squirt of oil. If that puts compression back to norms it probably isn't a valve but piston/ring issues are the likely then. Is is just making a noise or running poorly over this? Should have asked that first. Next I would get the suspect cylinder on TDC and use compressor air thru spark plug hole. They have rubber tips that will seal so air will go out any major leaks and listen for air out exhaust or back thru throttle body if a valve is really cracked it should show up easily. Tell us more what the symptoms are or how you came to the idea it might be a valve at all - might not be, T
