95 pontiac sunfire no power

Someone i know just got a car and the person whom he got it from drove it with a clogged converter. We changed it and it still has no power even when holding it to the floor. What kind of damage are we looking at? Anything would be helpful at this point.

Which engine? 2.2L or 2.3L?
Check engine light on? What is the fuel pressure? Is the engine missing or skipping? If so, which cylinders are missing?
