Hi! My 1994 Peugeot 306 blew its head gasket (thanks to my dumb ass boyfriend driving it after the radiator exploded) We called in a mechanic to have a look at it and he said that it had blown the head gasket and would need a whole new motor etc...

I only bought it a few months ago for $2500 in what was supposed to be "mint" condition, and now the repairs are looking to cost around $2500 again. Is it worth it or should I just sell it for scraps? I'm pretty clueless when it comes to automotive things so any advice or opinions would be greatly appreciated!

This is always a tough call when repairs equal the value of the car.

I guess it would depend on what shape the car is in. 1st thing would be the mileage on the car. Then if the frt end & brks are in very good shape, the trans has been working good with no noise or "weird" morning problems and overall feels "tight" while driving it may be worth it.

If there is a long list of smaller things that need to be down then it may be time to close the book on this one.
