Check the vacuum line to the MAP sensor. Also is the temperature gauge working- there are 2 temp sensors one at the thermostat another in the cylinder head between cyl 1&3 be sure they are connected, Scan for codes- an older simpler computer BUT still may have a clue. 2) exhaust restriction - a really noisy DIYer trick was to temporally remove the o2 sensor and operate if better performance there is a restriction - its NOISY - a better test is to use a vacuum gauge observr if reading drops with a steady RPM.
