93 chevy truck accelerates at starting and wont idle down

1993 Chevrolet Z71 4x4 Silverado v6 198000 miles when starts accelerates and won't idle down. It also when you put it in drive acts like it is not in gauged and you have to drop it in low to go up any incline from a dead stop. The engine light did come on when this started. Checked to see if any vacuum lines where disconnected but did not see any loose

With a vacuum gauge to help look for vacuum leaks-
use the old spray trick - carb or brake clean - spray at suspected vac leak areas, TBI base gasket, manifold gaskets, EGR vac lines, a change in engine sound/RPM would indicate a leak... Also issues with the 4.3 would cause the EGR pintel to wedge open might want to ck that also....
Did you get the code- this is old school - jumping ALDL terminals A-B counting flashes...
Trans issue- how does trans fluid look? when was last trans filter change?
