93 chev p/u power loss

I have a 93 chev 1500 4.3l p/u. While towing a heavy trailer I have noticed a problem with power loss. When the gas pedal is depressed from 50% or more the truck will have poor accelleration then all of a sudden will kick in and operate normally. when I let off the gas it will do the same thing when I accelerate again. I have had no code signal. I have just had to replace the ignition module, cap rotor and wires. I believe the problem is with the fuel injectors, the truck has 200,000 kms on it, fuel pump is running but I do not know at what pressure yet. I think the injectors make an obvious ticking noise. I feels like not having the secondaries on a 4bbl, then having them kicking in intermittently. The engine runs fairly smooth for its age. Am I on the right track? Can a person dissassemble and clean injectors as they are quite expensive?

Does this happen only when you are towing?

No, It happens all the time, it is more noticeable when towing as the need for full throttle is greater. Normally I do not get into a situation where I require more than 50% throttle. It seems like it is not getting enough fuel, the more I open the throttle it loses more power, ie. leaning out, then it will just start to accelerate and run smooth and strong. On big hills I would be down to 2nd gear as 3rd would not pull at all, If I hit hills at 110+kmh in 4th It will pull strong or at least maintain my speed, can't use 5th unless I am going over 120kmh If I require any power. I have had to shift down going downhill with a load on the truck and a full trailer just to maintain speed downhill. I know I was asking alot of the little V6 but there is a definite intermittient problem. I am not a qualified mechanic but have had alot of experience with chev trucks. I thought about ignition problems but there is not much more to replace that would cause an on again/off again problem. Like I said, If it was my old '78 with the edelbrock I would swear the secondaries were'nt functioning properly.
Thanks for the reply, I am stumped and do not want to start replacing the wrong parts. I have tried that type of diagnosing before and it is expensive.
