Was wondering if anybody could help me locate the crank shaft positioning sensor on a 93' Chevy Lumina with a 3100 motor. It is not around the harmonic balancer

You don't need to make so many threads on the same subject. The mods aren't going to like that. There are people on here that do come around and respond.

If this is a van, there is no crank sensor. The ignition system uses a pick up sensor in the distributor to time the spark and fuel injection.

If this is a car, the 3x crank sensor on a federal emissions car is located in the block on the side of the engine closest to the firewall just above the oil pan. Have fun getting it out, a lot of times they are stuck and break off. You might get lucky though.

hey I did one on my 91 Lumina and it is no fun. I don't know what your problem is but with me I had no spark at all. It is on the side of the block between the firewall and the engine about 6 inches up and about center. I think it is held in with a single bolt, I think it was a 10 millimeter. You will only have about an inch and a half to get your hand or tools in there. Have plenty of light and an inspection mirror. work it out with a long neddle nose and something to use as a lever, pulling it straight toward the firewall. Mine broke off but I was able to grab the wire with the needle nose and slowly rocking it out. Good luck that it will come out without to much trouble. It is pretty easy to install. If you absolutely have too un-bolt the two dog bone motor mounts and roll the engine forward and you may be able to work on it some from the top. (you have to do it by mirror though. I pulled mine from the bottom. If you do that chain your motor securely forward so it doesn't roll back and crush your hands.
