I have a 1992 mitsubishi pickup called a mighty max. It's 2wd with a 2.4L in it. Ive replaced the spark plugs fuel regulator and the mass air flow sensor on the vehicle. Before i replaced those two parts the truck would run for 5 min then die. When i would check the spark plugs the plugs would be soaked with gas. After changing these parts the truck will sit and idle but after moving the truck about 10 ft the truck looses power and dies. What do i need to do. the truck has 130,000,miles on it.

When the truck dies, will it immediately restart or will it crank over and not start? Steve

mightymax; Sounds as if it is overfueling. Check the CTS (coolant temp sensor) and the connection. We can supply a chart for you, if needed, to check resistance at varying temps. I went ahead and attached the chart. Loren SW Washington

If it won't start, let's install a fuel pressure guage into the fuel rail, install a noid light into one of the injector pigtails, and a spark tester on one of the coil wires. If you have a vacuum guage, tee into the pcv hose. Crank engine and observe all test equipment. Please record fuel pressure and crank vacuum readings and post back here. Also tell us if there is or isn't spark and whether or not it has injector pulse. Steve

Pull the plugs again and dry them out. When you try to start it again, hold the throttle to the floor. This will enable a 'clear flood'. If the engine starts, back out of the throttle so you don't over-rev the engine. There are a multiude of things that could be going on, here, but I'm assuming that the engine is just flooding. Spark, cam timing, ect. are okay? Loren SW Washington
