It had a fast idle problem when in park but I don't think that caused this. It ran fine when I started it but died as I gave it gas to pull out of the driveway then on restart it idled like it was "dieseling", very slow and rough, then died. It has a good spark and I've checked the fuel pump relay and fuse. Tomarrow I'm gonna change the fuel filter and check the fuel pump. I think its either jumped time or the pump is bad but I was hoping someone had other ideas as to what could be wrong since I don't have the money right now for expensive parts if thats not the problem. Also there are no trouble codes in the ECM and I don't think this car has a crank/camshaft position sensor(if anyone knows different, tell me). Thanks in advance for any suggestions. Update: Turns out it was the Rear Camshaft gear. I'm now faced with the decision of replacing the camshaft or getting a new(remanufactured I assume) engine. The garage wants $1100 to replace the camshaft(I'd do it my self if I didn't have to pull the engine to do it) and said it wouldn't be much more to replace the engine. With 140K on this engine and not knowing any of it's history I'm leaning towards the new engine. Also if anyone cares the CPS is in the distributor.
