'92 Stalls when slowing down Sign In

my '92 honda accord stalls sometimes when I slow down abruptly....I put some fuel additive in it but that didnt do much anything....it also was slow to take off as if the brakes were being pressed at the same time as the accellerator...then the "D" drive Light got very bright and started blinking and the car began sputtering as if it was in between gears...i pulled off along side the road and started back driving with the hesistation but then it stopped and all was fine...this only happened once...but the stalling is like always.....help me...

For the stalling, you may have a bad IAC ( idle air control) but try cleaning the throttle body first. Remove the intake snorkel, have someone hold the throttle wide open for you and scrub the back side of the throttle plate and surrounding bore with an old tooth brush and some carb cleaner. Be sure to spray some into the small holes next to the throttle plate. That should help stabilize the idle. If it still has a problem, replace the IAC.

Yes, a good place to start, especially with honda's and the sort is clean all openings in the air inlet. Everything is run on vacume and dashpots.(Sad but true). Also has the vehicle been starting normally. I ask because due to winter, have You had to crank unusually longer lately or has starting changed in anyway, or had a jump start lately ? There may be fuel in You're oil causeing loading up at slow speeds and idle under load? it sounds like You're tourqe convertor lockup is ok, and You just have a fuel/air mixture problem. Also just pull off the 8000 vacume lines to the aircleaner and look to see ALL vacume lines are connected or not dry and cracked and or leaking.
