He took the old one out and it had a specialized harness that wouldn't fit the new one, so he used a meter and found out which wires were neg and posi. He hooked in the new lighter and it didn't work. So I told him to call it a day and just tape up the wires and leave it. Now throughout the install he was starting and turning off the vehicle to check voltages, and it started fine. I went back to my car about 45min later and it wouldn't start. I charged the battery just incase but still nothing. I checked the fuses and their fine, in the cab and under the hood. It sounds like its not getting any fuel, because it does try to start. Is it possible that I might have an electronic fuel pump and he blew it from a cig lighter? anyone have any other ideas? Id say im a novice mechanic with a general understanding of cars, I have rebuilt some of my s10 blazers engine and drivetrain and am making it my mudder. But I definetly wouldn't call myself an auto tech. Now im sure people will say my friends an idiot, and I agree I shouldn't have let him do this lol But if anyone has any ideas id appreciate it.
