This truck of ours used to be very dependable and has been sitting for over a year in a half. I have been starting the truck every 2-3 days for the last 4-5 months with it starting with no problems or hesitation. The other day i went to start it and all it would do is crank. Tried some engine start... nothing. Today i tested the ignition coil and replaced it. Cleaned the cap and rotor. Tested for fire from coil to distributor and was not getting anything. Checked all the fuses and all was good. This is one of those all of a sudden problems cause i have not done anything to the truck but start it. I have got to get rid of this truck before i move in a few weeks... Please help Thank you, Paul

Mostly likely causes of no spark would be the ignition module and/ or pick up coil in the distributor. Other possibilities are faulty distributor itself(bad shaft),open in wiring to distributor, distributor wiring, ignition coil, which you replaced (did it check bad?).Ignition switch. Engine timing(with the distributor cap off(out of the way) turn the engine over and observe the rotor, does it turn? Pick up a Haynes manual at parts store, they should have procedures in there for using an ohm meter to check the module and pick up coil. Jim
