89 Chevy camaro 2.8 v-6 - 200,000 miles - Car has been bucking like it loses power then takes off. Almost like a fuel filter plug or plugs missing. I swapped out the distributor cap, rotor, plugs, and plug wires, and 2 days later the cap is fouled again. I can be driving down the highway @ 75 mph and it will start bucking with very little movement of the accellerator. After it is good and warm and I am forced to drive much slower such as in traffic, it loses power and I have to pull over, shut it off for about 30 seconds and then it will run fine for a little bit and then do it again. Any ideas as to what coulod be wrong? Please help.

check your oxygen sensor. Is the check engine light coming on? If so, please post the codes. Have you changed the fuel filter on this or checked your fuel pressure at the rail?

Yes the check engine light is on, I will check the sensor. As far as the fuel filter goes, My book does not show the filter for this car except that it may be in the tank. Napa insists that it has an in-line flter, there is no filter anywhere along the lines from the tank to the throttle body, would there be a filter anywhere else?

Unless someone has removed it, there is a filter under the car, in front of the left rear wheel, attached to the frame.

Re Fuel Filter:

Never say never but this one should be under car in line with flare nuts to it looking like this...........

It could be hidden by a support for trans or something or another color - silver or gold? Use real flare nut wrenches and start with PB penetrating solvent as when real stuck they will cause hell to replace. Probably not the issue but a good idea to do these regularly,
