89 blazer, with fuel injector problem. started with engine stalling while driving (warm or cold), started back up right away. 2 days later, drove to work, lunch time won't start. tried every so often and after 40 minutes the truck started, 2 miles later it stalled and didn't start right away. 10 minutes later it started and i parked it.
i found the ground wire connector broke. how it ran at all after that i am not sure. of course i fixed the wire, turned over the engine and no start. i observe the injector and it would spray and then stop (both of them). fuse seems ok, well the one under the dash.
does anyone have any clue where my problem lies. it seems i should name my truck Christine, she just runs when she wants... please post here or send me email direct... mcshep29@yahoo.com

While the truck has no injector pulse you should check for spark as well. If you have spark then the problem is in the fuel control circuit. If you don't have spark you can try replacing the pickup inside the distributor as this supplies the ECM with a tach signal. If the ECM doesn't see a tach signal, it doesn't know the engine is turning over, therefore it will not pulse the injectors. At the same time, if the pickup is bad, it will not send a pulse to the ignition module therefore you will not have spark as well. Perform this check and post back so we can go further.

I do have spark. in fact, first thing i did was try to start it. it started and ran for about 10 minutes. now nothing, no fuel. I did change the fuel filter before this started. in fact, it stalled the first time on the day i changed the filter. (along with plugs, cap, rotor, and O2 sensor). could there be air trapped in the line? could it be the fuel pump. i just find this all strange. truck ran fine, just bogged up hills, before i did any maintance. now it won't start, won't stay running when it does start. i feel as though i messed something up while changing these simple parts.

Your best bet is to hook up a fuel pressure guage and start the engine. Observe the fuel pressure reading. When the engine dies, if the guage is holding fuel pressure, it is not a pump problem. If the guage is real low or zero, it may be a faulty pump, relay, or PCM. Start there and post back with the results, include the fuel pressure psi so we can determine if the pump may be weak or if there is a pressure regulator problem.

check fuel lines and filter, in rare instances material in filter will fall apart and clog lines. otherwise go with steve.
