I just bought a 88 GMC C 1500 for a redneck kid who swaped out the factory V-8 for a Carborated V-8 it ran great but it does not run now the fuel pump is working and it is getting spark (i know after grabing the plug wire and getting a little jolt ) the only thing i see out of the ordinary is a wire he has coming into the cab from a quick conect conected to the distibutor . some one please help me get this damn beast on the road again

The standard answers dont really apply when people have rebuild engines or replaced engines. They may have done something very wrong that we wouldnt be able to pick up from the symptoms provided. Your best bet is to take it to a mechanic. It would be too hard to diagnose otherwise. That wire could be anything?
