Hello,I have a 1988 grand am 2.5 litre,My mother was driving it recently and it died and will not start. Its getting fuel and spark but acts like the timing is off. Before it died for 2 weeks during wide open throttle it would miss, sometimes even at 3/4 throttle.I belive it had been running rich. I think it might be crank postion sensor. I have it but im not sure where it is located. I really need this car thanks. And also right before it died my mother said the motor quietend down and when i went to go help her I smelled gas so It flooded out.

If there is spark don't bother doing the crank sensor. The crank sensor sends the tach signal to the ECM. Only when the ECM sees a tach signal will you have spark and injector pulse. Double check for spark at all of the plugs. Install a noid light and check for injector pulse. Hook up a fuel pressure guage and record the fuel pressure in psi. Do all of these tests and post back with the results so we can go further. Steve
