87 ford v8 350 dump cracking distributor.

ive got a 1987 ford v8 350 dump. it has 87k miles, the distributer keeps cracking, each time i replace it. now the auto shop is telling me the cam shaft gears r shot.

Pull distributor check drive gear on cam. If worn replace camshaft . Eng has a ton of hard miles , may be time for a rebuild or a long block.
