What are you using for a fuel pump? Sure points to lack of fuel,

A mechanical pump. Fuel pressure at carb is 6.5.

OK - that's plenty for a carb so pump itself should be fine but still should go thru a filter on way or at carb which may be a problem. That or carb itself wont allow fuel in with some issue/problem with needle valve or whatever that carb uses.

Is choke working at all?

Took carb off and tore it apart. It was nasty inside a couple needle vavles were sticking and for some reason the step up (metering) rods were all bent up and weren't even going into there hole locations. Havent got it back together yet waiting on parts. Will update asap... thanks for help..

Yuk. IDK if you can fix bent up stuff reliably. No clue what an Edelbrock carb looks like inside. May need another entirely. Many OE carbs really stunk in model year '84 people swapped them out like wild fire for non OE stuff just to run OK not just any performance,

Good luck. Maybe that company sells parts to it that wouldn't come in the standard rebuild kit??

Who had it apart to cause that damage?
