84' 300D Mercedes Benz Engine hard start

I just got the car not to long ago. Before the car started up just fine even in cold weather for a diesel. Then the start up was a little rough. Then to start the engine I'd have to try three times. First attempt the engine would die right after start up. Second time engine died right after start up. Third it would stay on and sound fine. I tested my glow plugs with a multimeter, and all 5 seem to have good continuity. I even changed them and I still have these troubles. Anyone have any advice?
