5.7 new motor sucking air through carb.

We installed a 5.7 new motor in a chevy suburban. the motor starts right up but it will suck your hand right through the carb. totally lost.

First off, it doesn't have a carb and second, why is that a problem?

This seems to have a stronger draw than normal. When you shut the car off you can hear a loud suction before it shuts down all the way.

I don't think there a problem with just that. Your user name suggest this is a 2003 and didn't think 5.7s were used that year? Doesn't really matter now but what model year is this?
