5.3 v8 Engine Help Sign In

Im Looking to get a 2000 Silverado 1500 Extended Cab Truck and it has a 5.3 V8 Engine in it, would it be good on gas mileage? or should i keep looking?

If you are looking for fuel economy this wouldn't be it. It like anything will vary by the use it gets and way it's driven.

Poke around town expect diddle. Highway and steady maybe 18 or so at best still dependent on a ton of factors. If you need a truck and higher MPG your stuck,

I agree. The general nature of the vehicle you are looking for will not give good mileage. If you want good fuel mileage, don't keep looking at full size pickups.

If it has the aerodynamics of a brick, weighs 2 1/2 tons and has 8 cylinders your gas mileage will suck. You either get something that can haul stuff and pay for extra gas or buy a little car that gets great mileage and can't move much more than the people in it. If they could make a truck get good mileage, nobody would own a Prius.
