Ok, I have a 93 3000gt with an old block. My problem is when I try to crank it over by hand it gets really hard to turn in two places. If i try and crank it with the starter (or the key) it will try to start-up until it gets to one of those two spots then the engine will not turn anymore(just makes a loud high pitch noise) until I crank it over that spot by hand. The starter is brand new so i don't think it's the starter, also if i take the heads off the engine the valves look fine and do not look bent. When saparated the block cranks over easily. but on the heads there are some places that are harder to crank over than others. My question is could this be the lifters, lubrication or something like that?Unsure

There has got to be someone out there that has seen something like this before or that knows what I'm talking about?

First of all, you can't tell if valves are bent with the naked eye. Second, if you removed the head and the hard spot is gone, then you have found your problem. Send the heads out to the machine shop and let them check them.

Thanks Hammer-Time! Thank you for responding,My only problem is I got the heads rebuilt last summer and they along with that 3000gt have been sitting up till about a month ago.I am having trouble passing omissions in my other car so I thought I would give this one a shot and maybe sell the other car.I'm not sure but it does look like some of the lifters are different from the others,I mean some even look as if they stand a little taller and if i release the oil preasure from them they still are harder to compress then the others.I think the shop used my old lifters and maybe added a few new ones maybe half and half.I'll try different lifters or maybe get different heads. Thanks again Hammer.
