First, hi everyone...

So, this morning, I get in the car to take the kid to school. Push the start button and it hesitates and then slowly turns over and it starts... off we go. I assume one of the kids or the girlfriend left a cabin light on and go on my way. 15 miles roundtrip, so alternator will have plenty of time to recharge the weak battery.

Get home, shut car off and go about my day. 2 and a half hours later, time to go get the kid. Push the button and sounds like someone firing a machine gun... Clicks like crazy. So, dead battery obviously... Grab my Jump Box, starts right up and off I go.

Pick up my kid and on the way home, stopped by a friend's who has a scanner and a battery tester.

No engine codes at all. ok...

battery tests as a good battery. ok....

With vehicle still running, reading 13.8 volts. Shut it off, voltage drops to 12.6 volts.... hmmmmm.... ok..

get back in car and once again , multiple clicks. use the jump pack, takes two attempts to start it up and then i drive it the 1/4 mile home. about an hour later (because it was raining), I go to put the battery charger on it to charge the battery fully, assuming i am going to have to hunt down a parasitic drain...

Only thing is, the charger wont charge the battery cause it says the battery is fully charged already...

So, if the battery is good and fully charged, and I am hearing multiple clicks while trying to start it, then what is the issue? Multiple clicks tells me that the solenoid and motor are getting power, just not enough of it... or am i wrong there somehow??

not sure exactly what to do here. I'm not a professional mechanic, but know just enough to be confused here.... any help would be appreciated.

You definitely have battery or battery connection issues. I suggest you have your batter professionally tested. I don't trust whatever your friend is using.

I really don't think it's a parasitic draw if it was dead after only a few hours. The voltage reading alone doesn't mean much.
