2008 Cheverolet Silverado 4wd with the flex fuel (do not use flex, not worth the money)-(5.3 or 5.7 I think...too lazy to go out in the rain and verify). Mileage approximately 74000

Issue, will not start all the time. Takes several tries with the key or if tapped on the starter. Starter replaced a couple months ago, core tested good even after 50 consistent tests which I observed. Dealer said it was the starter, but obviously not.

I have cleaned and tightened all electrical connections at the starter and battery. I have changed the ice cube shaped fuse with the headlamps (which I have read online as a possibility). Still however, sometimes starts right up. At other times takes awhile. I have put the truck in neutral and the same issue. Getting tired of everyone saying its the starter even after I tell them it is new and the core tests good every time tested. Points to something else I think.

Also to note, the electrical lock button on the drivers panel stopped working early on after purchasing the truck and the pass rear window will go down but not up when using the control switch on that door. When I turn my alarm on, driver door does not lock. (Possibly related issue? Doubtful but just more information to ponder).

If you're too lazy to go out and get the engine size, we can't help you.

I can tell you right now that if you can tap on the starter and prompt it to start, then you have a bad starter.

If you don't believe that and want to find out for yourself, you're going to have to follow a wiring diagram with a test light to determine where power or ground is being lost.

PS, I deleted your other post. You need to keep everything in one thread.
