I have a 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix.
102,000 Miles
***I Think*** the engine is 3.7 V6

It has the same problem as before, I replaced the battery and the car was doing all right for a few days.
Now it won't start all the time. Most of the time it just keeps cranking and won't turn over.

I have these codes (WITH check engine light on):
p0030
p0036
p0201
p0202
p0203
p0204
p0205
p0206
p0443
u0107

Please help me. This is my only transportation and even with the check engine light on and the cranking problems I still have to use it to get to work.
I really want to resolve this problem. If you guys can't help I guess i'll just bring it in but it's 102$ just to have a look at the car. I am not that well off. So if anyone knows what's wrong I would really appreciate it if you help me.

*Some other info*
When driving sometimes the headlights die and won't turn back on.
Only other visible/physical problems are just the cranking. The car has no other problems except for the starting problem and these codes that are showing when the check engine light is on.

You've either got a PCM on the fritz or you have an issue with a major connection of the wiring harness. The P0030 and P0036 codes are for your heating element in the oxygen sensor, the P201-P206 are all malfunctions of injectors. I have never seen all six injectors go bad and code at the exact same time. The P0443 is an evap solenoid code, and the U0107 indicates it has has lost communication with your drive-by-wire throttle pedal assembly. To have all of this happen at the same time tells me its going to need to be taken into a shop to be properly diagnosed. You need a high-end scan tool and a factory level wiring schematic to troubleshoot an issue like this correctly.

Thank you so much for the quick reply. I guess i'll just have to throw it in the shop then. I really appreciate you taking your time to look at my post. I really don't have the money for transportation or to fix the car right now but I guess I can have them take a look for the 102$. I'll post an update on the diagnosis when I get it done. I hope it doesn't cost me too much...

Thanks again.

Powertrain relay is probably taking a crap. That relay supplies power to all those items that you have codes for.

Would replacing the powertrain Relay fix the problem?
It would cost 102$ for them to just scan for the problem
It would cost 340-500$ to replace the whole PCM.
The relay itself would cost 20$ and about another 20$ to replace. Would changing out the relay help at all or should I just have it fully diagnosed.

Quick read - sorry. If relay is on the suspect for all that try tapping on it with the plastic end of a screwdriver or something. If the identical relay is for like A/C compressor clutch just do a quick swap.

I don't like to toss bucks but $20 isn't so bad. I have found several relays work but not deliver full power thru them but might test out with just a test light and mess up your whole day over $20 bucks I say toss it,

Thanks everyone for the quick responses. I will be going to autozone to replace the relay if they have to special order it i'll get it done then post back when it's replaced to tell you if the problem is fixed and if I have any codes left.

In stock @ my AZ! Tap on it first. Didn't check but as said see if it's the same as one you absolutely don't need for a swap test.

You had luck for a short while with new battery so that's solved a gremlin on me for a while. Looooooog hunt as things would just test and worked - just door locks on that one.
Test fine then do it when not there (not my own) and just touch anything it would behave so messed me up for quite a while.

Yours relay should look like this........

There are points inside the sucker if a new one does in fact fix it take it apart and look just for fun. Hope it's that easy,

T

I can't find the relay module could you direct me to where it's at? The autozone employee said he wouldn't be able to find it if I brought my car in.

Also the image you posted isn't working for me.

All right thanks, I have to catch the bus to work in about 1 hour so if I don't get back to you, you know why.

I really appreciate the help. I just hope I don't have to pay 500$ to have the pcm replaced...

Failed at finding a location quickly. Owner's manual may state where or position in with others. Sometimes a cover over a fuse relay box will say also. Several guys here may know off the top of their head or have better info if this alone (location) is a problem to find.
Good luck,

Tom

Before you replace the relay you could do some troubleshooting to see if the relay is actually the problem. Since it doesn't want to start, it would make it really easy to figure out. Jumper the P train relay cavity and see if the engine starts. Jumper 30 to 87 in the relay cavity. Make sure you jump the correct terminals or you could fry the PCM.

Thank all 4 of you guys. You solved my problem. I will make another thread/repost in this one if any codes pop back up.

You saved me 102$ for diagnosis and maybe 300-500$ on repairs if they told me to replace my pcm. Thank you guys so much you don't know how much this means to me.

No check engine light, no cranking problems. My Pontiac is now in perfect working order!
