ive done a diagnostic scan and have codes its come up as an evap leak and my dash says gas cap is loose which it isnt. also comes up as a missfire on cylinder seven. i was told to change coils and that didnt work engine light is still on! what do you suggest i do next? i plan to change my sparkplug and wire to that cylinder. it all started when i over filled my tank and it broke which created a evap leak. i fixed the tank with a tank repair kit from auto parts store. and all was well for a short time. i had my spark plugs replaced as a routine maintenance and my truck has never run right since. i'd appreciate any good advice at this point im out of money and still working on my truck.

Did you break the tank, or the gas cap? It is very common for gas caps to go bad. An EVAP leak can be tough to find, sometimes, requiring a 'smoke' test to find. #7 cylinder is the back one on the driver's side. As you know, this engine has two spark plugs for each cylinder if it's the Hemi.. They should be changed at 30K mile intervals. If you remove both plugs you may be able to see if one, or both, have been misfiring. The coils are interchangable from cylinder to cylinder. You can swap 5 and 7 coils to see if the misfire moves to 5. Same thing with wires, if they are long enough to reach.
