That will be the cylinder all the way to the driver's side of the front bank.
Use an ohmeter and compare the resistance of that injector to the others. (hot engine)

It's the plenum and you should be able the access the plug without removing the manifold for the front cylinders.

Re: 2003 pontiac montana Sign In

I've told you how to test the injector. Don't assume a new injector is going to fix your problem without testing it. You will have to remove the manifold to remove the injector and if you really need that much help just to locate the injector, I certainly wouldn't try changing it yourself. There's a lot of things that you can mess up in the process. If you've never installed an injector before, don't try it. You'll end up with more leaks than you could imagine.

Re: 2003 pontiac montana Sign In

That's the second piece of good advice I can give you. Don't listen to any advice you get from anyone in AutoZone or Advanced Auto. They are nothing but sales clerks with no technical training at all. The code does not automatically mean a bad injector. It could just as easily be the related wiring or the PCM causing that. Installing injectors requires a lot of prep work or they will leak like hell and you'll be doing the whole job over.

No problem, As I said, measure the resistance of that injector with a digital ohmmeter and compare it to some others to tell if it's bad or not.

Re: 2003 pontiac montana Sign In

You should get a good reference checking the front 3. If 2 of them are 10 ohms and #6 is 1 or 20 ohms, then it has a problem. If they are all within a few ohms of each other, then you need to look elsewhere. Try getting them hot before testing.

Re: 2003 pontiac montana Sign In

Get it good and hot because that's when injectors fail. You don't have to worry about any manifolds. Your far enough away from the exhaust.
