I have a 2003 Dodge Dakota Quadcab with a 4.7l V8 with 98,000 miles. I wanted to change my spark plugs because it was coming up on 100,000 miles. I did so and after I did, my truck started skipping really bad. Now it won't rev over 3,000 rpm and if i drive it easy the tranny will change gears properly. I put the old plugs back in to see of I had gotten some bad plugs. The issue is still there. The check engine light is on but I don't have a computer to test the codes. It was running ok before the plug change. Once in a while, it would idle kinda rough but would clear up quickly. One other issue that I just remembered is that the night before I changed the plugs, when I turned my headlights off, my ABS light, brake light and airbag light was on in the dash. My power windows wouldn't work either. I switched the truck off and back on and it went back to normal. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Was it doing this before you replaced the plugs? It's possible that you damaged one of the coils during the process. Pulling codes will tell you which cylinder is affected. Check all the coil connectors. Should use a dab of dielectric on each coil insulator when re-installing them, btw.
Recommended spark plug replacement interval is 30,000 miles.

Thanks for the advice. Are those coils really that sensitive? I will try to go by the parts store to see if they will scan my codes.
