2002 Ford Mondeo Cutting out	Sign In

Hi,

I am new to this site and hope there is someone out there that can give me some advice....?

I recently bought a 2002 Ford Mondeo Ghia X with a Duratorq engine. After about 5 minutes driving it cuts out and the engine management light (glow plug light) flashes. I then turn it off and after that it turns straight over again, drivesa then does it again shortly after.

I have taken it down the local garage and it was connected to a computer that told me the camshaft sensor was inoperative. I changed it and it still happens...

the weird looking thing is that the wiring for the sensor that comes round the front of the engine has straight through cable crimps visable as if the wiring has been changed at some time and i now suspect someone has replaced the wires or extended them. Ive also checked on a similar model and the wires are put away not hanging about....

Does anyone know or could look at their mondeo what wire should go to what part of the sensor..??

If anyone can help it would be much appreciated....

I could get a photo of mine if anyone is interested in helping....

It may not be the problem but I'm not a fan of crimp connectors for exterior wires or any wiring exposed. they should be soldered and then shrink wrapping over the soldered area. You could try crimping a little more and problem may subside if that's it. If it does then fix that wire with proper automotive wire soldered in properly. Since that's the code you get and you can see just a crimp connection I highly suspect that as a problem,
