2002 Dodge Intrepid trouble starting

Hi,
I have a 2002 Dodge Intrepid and have had multiple problems with it starting. I have brought it into the shop (pep boys) multiple times and have spent way too much money already and it is still having the same problem.
What's happening:Turn key and NOTHING, no sounds other than the fan starting, lights, radio, door ding all working correctly and with full power. NO clicking sound like the starter.
What's been replaced: Battery, spark plugs and Cam sensor
What's been checked: starter and altenator both came back working in good condition.
This has happened 3 times now and every time I get it towed to the shop it starts right up after taking it off the truck. Again it happened today and what I did was, turned the key into the on position, put the car in neutral then back in park and tried to restart and it started right up?!?! What is going on?!? Any ideas are welcomed! Thanks!

Did this problem start happening shortly after getting new battery?

No, it happened before the battery was replaced and has kept happening. Someone I spoke to today stated that it might possibly be the transmission?!?!?

Sounds like it could be park/neutral safety switch which I am not sure where it is located on a intrepid. next time it acts up hold the key in start position and jiggle the shifter see if it starts.

Had to look up what the part is and what it does, but defiently sounds like it is either maladjusted or on its last leg. Thanks for the advice!
