2001 Durango engine shuts off as soon as it is put into gear

When I turn the engine on my 2001 Durango it will sit there running happily. But, as soon as I put it into gear the engine immediately shuts off. It is not over heating.

It may be the just the torque of putting in gear is causing a ground strap or ground somewhere involed with engine is losing contact. Just a guess but that could explain it?? Perhaps VERY carefully while idling see if jiggling grounds or any connections cause the stall and then you know the trouble area at least, T
