2000 olds intrigue starter problems

Burned up 5 starters in just a few months. My mechanic tested the ignition switch, that's Ok! He said the starter seems to be backwards from when it engages, and disengages. He thought maybe it was the under the hood fuse box, but doesn't think that's it anymore. He said it seems to work fine if You remove the starter relay before shutting the car off, and put it back in after you turn the key to the on position, and then start it. My mechanic is still kind of confused as to why it does that. And feedback would help greatly.....Thank You

You already have a thread on this. Please use that until this is solved and not confuse it with a second thread on same issue. This one locked.
The other you claimed was an '01? This a 2000? Same car or two do the same thing we'll re-open this thread by request if a different car,
