2000 blazer difficultly starting and runs rough when cold

2000 blazer difficultly starting and runs rough when cold Sign In

i have a 2000 blazer that is difficult to start, will idle smooth, but running rough and jerky when under acceleration until warm then it seems to run fine again, have replaced the rotor and cap and coil, service engine soon light came on and hand held scanner is showing multiple misfires. help please

What are the exact code numbers being set. (all of them)

we had it tested at auto zone and they did not give up any numbers only that it was showing multiple misfires

sounds to me like a compression problem.
When cold you have a leak through the rings but when warmed up the seals swell and compression gos back to normal.
If that is the cause it will get worst.
Have mechanic do a compression test.
Could be a problem with the fast idle sensor as it only comes into play when engine is warming up

Ron79, you have absolutely no information to come to that conclusion. Please stop just throwing out a random diagnosis without any evidence. We don't work that way here.
