I started having starting issues earlier this year. The van will be running perfectly the day before then the following morning it won't start. When I turn the ignition I can hear one click and nothing else. The engine will not turn over at all. I had the starter and battery checked and they were okay. I swapped starter relay with a known good one and still it wont start. I eventually figured out that by removing the battery negative terminal and reseating it I was able to start and use the van till the next time it decides not to start again. It almost seems like I have to reset the electrical system by this procedure. Does anyone have any ideas why this is happening and maybe suggest a permanent fix?

Have you made sure that your battery connections are clean and tight. Sounds alot like a bad connection if you can play with them and get it to crank. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

I replaced the positive terminal lug not too long ago. Leaking battery water ate through the original lug. All connections are clean and tight. I'm not an electrician so I'm posing this question, Isn't the clicking sound I hear proof that connection is good at least all the way to the starter?

What's with the leaking battery?! NO - that needs fixing and if just some temporary cable end that you cut off cable and strip to put on just the end you called a lug was used they are not good enough IMO, T
