Hey Gang!!

I did some research on site, but cant find good answer and this is kicking my butt. Please and thanks in advance for advice/help.
2000 2.2 4dr Cavalier - Ran like top; no issues. Daughter rear ended cop car; minor leaks in radiator so put in Bar's Leak and tried to run it; overheated and brought it to house; I replaced radiator and condenser; filled it up and no leaks but runs super hot like it will overheat. Put in new thermostat, same problem. Removed tiny "pressure relief screw" in hard line, top right front of motor and no coolant coming out.
Try with thermostat out? Air lock? Needs good flush? Thoughts? Thanks in advance for any help!!

Yes, you probably still have a lot of air in the system. some engine can be very hard to bleed. The Bars leak was a major mistake and will probably lead to heater problems also.

Is there better way to bleed or is that 8mm screw on hard line the best? Might have blocked heater core with bars leak?

Thanks!

Yes, sealers just plug up things they shouldn't.

We usually use "vacuum fill" to get all the air out but if you don't have the tools you have to do it the hard way. Open that valve as you are filling it until fluid runs out of it. If it never does, then you already have blockage that needs to be resolved first.

Once you have it full, close the system and run the engine to operating temp and drive it around the block. Now park it until it's completely cold and check all the fluid levels again. Top it off and repeat the process until it doesn't take any more fluid.

techforfree,

Why do you find it necessary to post the same info someone else has already posted?
