1999 chevy tahoe dies

1999 Chevrolet Tahoe 5.7 120,000miles, the vehile seems to die when coming to a stop or coming off a start. It just dies, no sputter and everything stays on. It will die coming to a stop light, starts right back up, then you go to take off and it might die again. Never seems to do it while driving (at least not yet). It will always start again so far. It has also died a couple times while we warm it up in the morning before we go to work.

These are fussy that fuel pressure is within range. I'd start with the key to run without starting pressure and watch how it holds, then with engine running. Just a couple lbs under and these can act up,

I would say check fuel pressure and check fuel filter if you have not lately... Is there a check engine light and if so find out what codes are stored... It could be the tps or maf sensor if it is equiped on vehicle..

Tom has some good advise on the fuel pressure and this does need to be checked, definitely a problem area on those.

Since it just seems to be happening at low speeds & idle I would clean the throttle body to see if that makes a difference. Those can get dirty enough where the IAC motor can't compensate any more & you will get this type of problem.

Whether this is causing the problem or not, it's something that really needs to be done on a regular basis as part of your maintenance routine.......
