Search Auto Parts Search 1999 cavalier multiple misfire Sign up here!   Email This Post Auto Repair Home>> Automotive Repair>> Engine Troubleshooting aaron1505 New User Mar 3, 2010, 10:32 AM Post #1 of 3 (1656 views) 1999 cavalier multiple misfire Sign In hi my 1999 cavalier 2.4 leiter quad 4 is showing the code for multiple misfire it starts and runs smooth for about 5 secconds then gets really rough i have checked and tested almost everything. injecters spray good, compression is at 200, leakdown test is good cat is not cloged havent been able to test fuel pressure because i dont have the t fitting required because of no check valve. fuel filter was changed and was not cloged. someone else tested the vaccume and said that it was reading low because the timeing chain has skiped. i dont really believe this because the same thing happend before and it seemed to fix its self when added some gas to the tank. and now the problem is back and i really dont want to pull every thing apart to find out that the timeing is ok. please help any ideas and help will be greatly appreciated! thank you aaron aaron1505 New User Mar 3, 2010, 11:11 AM Post #2 of 3 (1651 views) Re: 1999 cavalier multiple misfire Sign In forgot to add that also changed the coil packs and the wires.
