1999 HOnda Accord With Engine Heating Issues Sign In

Hi,
I Have a 1999 Honda Accord LX and have had Engine Overheating Issues. Driving down on ahighway in August and engine started heating up and within a mile distance smoke started coming out. Lots of Coolant mixed up with gunk. The mechanic replaced a whole bunch of stuff the head gasket, sensor, thermostat and $1800 spent. 2 weeks later same issues. THis time he replaced the raditor, hoses etc. 3 weeks later same issues. MEchanic is not sure and was saying he never saw anything like it and was suggesting changing the Engine/Engine block. I have moved on from the car and now i want to sell the car. I am not Lying to anyone and have told the potential problems and a few mechanics/DIY showed interest.

My question is what is the CAr worth now? It has little rust on the body, no major body damage besides some scratches. With the car being ideel for a while now Battery is dead. Without knowing the true value, I am thinking people are low-balling me too much. i know if the car runs people will pay a little more for it. How much should i expect to get for it before i can sell this.

Of course they are going to low ball you. Nobody knows what is wrong with the car so it's not worth anything to anyone unless they can buy is cheap enough to insure they won't get burnt. Why don't you just try a better mechanic. That one is obviously stumped and that's not the car's fault.

I bet he did not replace the head bolts and send the head out to a machine shop.
The job will have to be redone if thats the case.Unsure
