1999 Ford Contour Will Not Run

My '99 Ford Contour with 112000 Miles has recently stopped running completely. Just before it completely broke down, it was momentarily stalling or running with loss of power, especially when going uphill or using defroster.

Have you tried a jump start yet? The association with the RWD suggests the electrical power available is compremised.
Is this the 2.0? If so that one is an interference engine and timing belt replacement at regular intervals is a must! Are you up to date with that?
