Hi, like the title says I have a 99' Mercury Cougar(Manual Transmission) and I just started having some engine trouble with it. Heres the problem: When I initially start the vehicle it will almost die, but then continue to run. When it is actually running the engine idles kind of funny, it isn't consitent, it pulses, idles high and low. When shifting into first gear it will almost die but then will lurch when moving. The gears after that are similar in that it will almost die and it feels very underpowered. Its as if the engine is acting very inconsistent. Any help would be appreciated!

Check your spark plugs, sounds like it missing. Otherwise, it could be something with your cars oxygen intake. Running rich and lean. But that would bring up "check engine" on your dash.
