Hello, I have a Chevrolet Prizm 1999, Automatic . The engine vibrates / shakes so bad when I shift transmission to any side like P to D, or P to R , and so on. I have checked with the mechanic and he told me that the Mounts need to be replaced. Then , all mounts ( 4 mounts, engine and transmissions ) have been replaced. The issue is still exist after the Mounts changed and there is no difference.

Your advice, what do you think and what should I do.

Sorry about the mess right away. Again, seems like the load and first suggestion that mounts were at fault was OK but all four doesn't really add up unless just because while there.


Anything but neutral load (P), (N) is some load. Engine is supposed to compensate for that whether in gear or other load. It may quit the vibration if you just hold the idle up which would help hone in for a reason.


Codes when an engine doesn't run well should be showing up as said if that shows. It would help it there is or even if isn't one or more for the fix. Exhaust parts can make a horrible rattle/vibration and not change actual engine performance also,
