1998 saturn hesitates

My 1998 saturn DOHC 1.9 liter,kind of acts like a carburated engine with a bad accelerator pump,( even tho i's elec fuel injected),it kind of hesitates when you step on accelerator.Also when you start it, it acts sort of like it's flooding/choking.So I think it is getting too much fuel as opposed to,too little.I have changed plugs, wires and fuel filter by the way.Any ideas what may cause this? any help would be appreciated.

Check engine light on? Might want to check fuel pressure for excessive pressure, CTS, and TPS. Many parts stores will scan the PCM for codes. Let us know what codes are retrieved.

the check engine light is not on.I'm guessing if I check with an OBD could I have a fault even tho no check engine light? I havent checked fuel pressure but I can get set up for that.What might cause high pressure?

Fuel pressure regulator. Yes, you can have faults w/o check engine light. We tend to rely on that, too much.

Well i went and had an OBD check done this afternoon and no codes were found.I had some free time at work today and found a site where a guy suggested looking at the coolant temp sensor which can affect fuel delivery and he also mentioned that if the temp gauge was not moving that may be suspect.So I shotguned that sensor and I have temp indication and no more hesitation.Not the desired way to trouble shoot but I lucked out sort of. Oh by the way the old part was cracked on the end which contacts coolant
