Evap leak. is this dangerous? Sign In I hooked my pathfinder up to a diagnostic reader because my check engine light came on. It gave me a reading of "small evap leak"! I tried replacing the gas cap and that did not fix the problem. what would cause this and is it dangerous to drive the vehicle? Evap leak. is this dangerous? Sign In I deleted your other question. There is no need to post duplicates. The evap leak only matters if you have to pass an inspection. It's just an emissions control.
