1998 Toyota Camry Oil Leak
Hi. Sorry for the basic post, I'm pretty new to working on my car. My car is: 1998 Toyota Camry CE, 2.2L 4 Cyl, 225,000 kilometers. My car is leaking oil. When I have it running, I can clearly see the source of the leak. Whenever I try to google this or even look in repair manuals, I can't find what it is or if I will be able to stop the leak myself by replacing seals / replacing parts. I've uploaded some pictures of the source of the leak, circled in red. The first picture isn't my car, just a zoomed out picture I found to show the area: http://imgur.com/a/yiuf9 I'm fairly certain this is source as I could see drips coming out from here and then hitting the exhaust manifold and boiling, making a terrible smell. I'm pretty much a google/youtube mechanic... Have only done basic things like replace my starter and alternator with the help of the internet. Looking for any advice at all on where to start and if this is something I'd be able to do myself. Thanks!

That looks like the oil pressure sender. That would be a pretty easy fix. Just unplug it and unthread it out then thread in a new one. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Thanks, was a really easy fix. For anyone else doing this, I didn't have a socket big enough so I ended up using vice pliers. Couldn't unthread it by hand. The replacement nut was actually smaller and 7/8" socket fit it. Added some teflon tape to the threads to seal it. With the right tools it was a 5 minute job.

That's doesn't take a regular socket. They make a special socket just for that.
