Hey guys, feel like I have been posting here far too much lately. Just cleaned out my EGR port and changed a cat about a month ago. I am now wondering if this continuing problem ruined the cat in the first place. Ever since I bought this car about 6 years ago, I have a cylinder misfire now and then. From what I can remember, before I had a scan tool, I would take it to autozone where it would show cylinder 6 misfire. Anyway, as you can see by the code, it is now cylinder 2. So here's what happens....

This seems to be pretty random, but I think I've noticed it mostly after rain?

After I start the car, it will start idling very rough. After I put the car in gear and start driving, the check engine light will flash and the car runs rough mostly at slower speeds. When I get up to about 40-50, it feels a bit better. However, when I slow down and stop again, idles rough but never dies. After about 5-10 minutes of driving, all of a sudden you can feel the engine catch and start running normal. Check engine light stays on but solid now coming up p0302.

Coil pack? plug? wire? fuel injector? Figure it is probably one of these, but hoping to get a push in the right direction.

Are you having to add coolant with no apparent external leaks?? If so then it is leaking coolant internally either thru the intake gasket or cyl head gasket.

The car sits and leaks coolant into the cyinder or intake passage. As the car runs it clears out the coolant and eventually smooths out.

Or..... You have an intake gasket that is leaking vacuum when cold. As the engine warms up the intake expands, seals the vacuum leak and runs better.

thanks for the reply blulakr. no coolant loss, but i can definitely spray to see if maybe a vacuum leak.
